A personal project of pattern, environment and lighting design. The Lighting concept of colored light shafts was inspired by Le Corbusier's Monastery of Sainte Marie de La Tourette. The patterns are my designs done on speculation to specification for a wall panel manufacturer. In many of the pattern installations shown by the manufacturer, artificial lights are used to bring form and depth to the patterns. I wanted to try a design that only used natural light, but controlled it in ways to show of different lighting arrangements on the panels.
Originally, I started with two different structures, one light and one dark, eventually combining them, since the openings in one tended to relate structurally to the opening in the other.
